Infertility question... HSG test... what next?

Have done a fertility panel, TSH, and E2 blood test... all come back normal. Had an HSG test today... tubes are open and no visuals of fibroids, I do have 2 cysts inside my ovary. I am on birth control to see if they shrink. Will go in again for ultrasound to see if they did shrink. Anyhow.... asuming my ovaries are fine (cysts go away)... why am I still not able to conceive? What happens next?

usually the next step is to have your partner have a semen analysis done to see if his sperm counts/motility/morphology are normal. did they do an FSH test on you on day three of your cycle? that is what tells them the ovarian reserve that you have. cysts in your ovary are normal. they usually go away within a cycle or two. the birth control pills will likely make them go away within a month. you also need to have your progesterone levels checked on the seventh day after you ovulate. low progesterone levels will keep you from staying pregnant if you do have a fertilized egg. you'd never know you were even pregnant for a minute because your body couldn't support the pregnancy and you'd have your period almost on schedule as normal, maybe a day or two late.

if the semen analysis is normal and you have been trying to conceive for more than 12 months if you're under 35 or more than 6 months if you're 35 or older, then many doctors will put you on a low dosage of clomid, 50mg, and do an IUI to speed up the process. the idea being you don't want to fiddle around and waste time if you're 35 or older.

doctors usually try things in groups of three. Three IUI's with clomid, then three IUI's with injectibles. Although some stop after three IUI's with clomid since 90% of couples who will get pregnant through IUI do so within the first three cycles. 95% of couples who will get pregnant from IUI do so in the first six cycles. so many docs stop you after three since your odds don't go up much after that and going on to injectibles are very expensive and you might as well be doing IVF rather than spending $3,000 per IUI.

so then you'd go on to IVF if the IUI's fail. and so on...

(all of this came from my own doctor, not my personal opinion or thoughts.)

I amk having that test taken maybe next week i i get my period...I hope i don't get my period
