Soymilk cauases infertility??

My mom says that if young people [meaning, minors, I assume] drink soymilk, they become infertile. I seriously had my doubts, but I just wanna know.
Please, no insults.

it is good for you, and the right brand is delicious, i drink about 6 liters a month lol,
watch out, when you find the one thats taste like vanilla milkshake then it's highly addictive lol

it's just soy hun, 100% good for you

I don't think infertility, but it can cause problems with hormones, because it mimics estrogen (phytoestrogens). There can also be thyroid problems So too much soy can cause problems for both men and women.

I've never heard of such a thing.

But anyone worried about the small amount of relatively weak phytoestrogens in soy milk should worry far more about the massive amounts of hormones given to cows kept for dairy--don't think THOSE don't show up in cows' milk. And those have more far-reaching effects than what's in soy.

There are several solutions: Make sure you're drinking soymilk from organic soybeans so as not to deal wtih GMOs and pesticide residue. Drink another type of plant milk--rice, oat, almond, or hemp. Drink a mixture of soy and another type of plant milk to moderate your soy consumption.

Only if the product is contaminated by some insecticide when being grown just know your source of the Soy

oy vey your mom doesn't know what she is talking about sorry to say. Many people are lactose intolerant and drink soy milk instead, and in Southeast Asia people drink soymilk all their life, and obviously they have children lol

I think some 'fertility gurus' recommend leaving soya out of your diet. It does contain phytoestrogens which could effect a woman's cycle or a man's sperm (I think there was some recent research to show that sperm swam slower in the presence of soya or something like that) but the danger is more likely to occur from the pesticides etc. with which the plant is sprayed. Plus at this stage the effects don't appear to be long term.
Some research also showed that 'slow-fermented' or double fermented soya products are unlikely to produce this effect.
However with all these things moderation is probably the key!
