Infertility: How did you beat it? |
I have PCOS and my husband has low sperm with high percentage malformed. Is there anyone with both partners experiencing fertility problems, who now have had a successful pregnancy? Any tips comments etc would be greatly appreciated There is lots of information about this online. There's even a Yahoo! PCOS e-mail group. You didn't mention your age, which where fertility is concerned, is a factor. I was infertile for over a decade. But I'm stubborn. I refused to take no for an answer from any of the doctors, and I refused to take no for an answer from my own body. There are bad doctors out there --- charlatans, who will take your money and/or your insurance money, knowing that they can't really help you. Then when the money or the insurance runs out, they discharge you from their practices. Choose your doctor wisely. It took me a lot of time and research, plus seeking second, third, fourth, etc. opinions, but I finally found an honest doctor, a reproductive endocrinologist. You can look at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) web site to find a good clinic. All the doctors in the US who provide IVF treatment are required under federal law to report their successes and failures to the CDC, which then compiles and publishes the data on its site. Find a good clinic, one with good numbers, and go there. The best ones may not be the ones closest to you. I had to travel to another state to get competent treatment. My daughter is now six years old, and my son is two. Good luck. E-mail me if you want.
