Ultrasound in diagnosing female infertility? |
Can infertility be determined by ultrasound, is that common practice? ok specifically, is it used to diagnose common causes of infertility like PID (pelvic inflammatory disorder) or endometriosis? or are there better tools I'm not sure about PID, but ultrasound can't be used to difinitively diagnose endometriosis. The only way to diagnose endometriosis for sure is to do a laparoscopy. I think it's a preliminary screening some sort of test procedure... infertility can be caused sometimes by tumor or cyst in the uterus through ultrasound it may be detected.... Just to know the condition of the woman's pelvic area. it's screening rather that diagnostic. an ultrasound is most commonly used to see how healthy the baby is and how it's growing during pregnancy no it can be used as a dianostic tool also |
