Tell me about your infertility journey!?

Here's my story, let's hear yours..
My husband and I started TTC over 16 mos ago and month after month, nothing happened. I went in for an annual after about 10 mos and she said everything seemed to be ok but wanted a semen analysis, which my husband was a little hesitant about, so we put it off since it'd only been 10 mos. I finally went to an OB-GYN last month and I'm starting on (what could be) the long journey of finding the cause of our infertility. I found out I have endometriosis, which I'd suspected when I was younger because I had such terrible periods, but had an ultrasound and they said I didn't, but did have a retroverted uterus. My OB-GYN said I do indeed have endometriosis and my uterus is actually not extremely retroverted! I got my CD3 hormones drawn this morning and am getting an HSG on Friday. I've used OPK's, fertility monitors, charting, etc and everything seems to confirm that I'm ovulating. So here we go, and we'll see what the next months or years bring!

Oh, and I forgot to add, my husband is indeed getting the semen analysis on Friday, which he is absolutely horrified over :)

Ok, tell your husband not to be horrified, he's not the first man to go in for one...and I can guarantee he won't be the last! My story began in 1995..my husband and I tried for a year on our own to get pregnant, but needless to say, nothing happened. I went to an infertility specialist and he did explority surgery. My uterus is tilted and my ovaries are twice the size of normal ovaries, I had a blocked tube and I also didn't ovulate. During this time, my husband went in for a seman anylasis (see...he's not the only one to have one of those done!) and we found out he had low motility (which means, his fishes didn't swim). We were told we wouldn't ever be able to conceive on our own, so we did invitro, not once...not twice....but three times. After that I said, NO MORE...it just was too much! After that we had two failed adoptions where the mother changed her mind after giving birth. It all seemed hopless. Needless to say, our marriage fell apart and we eventually divorced. I took a long time for myself and only recently got re-married (May 26th of last year to be exact)...and SURPRISE!!!! We just found out 3 weeks ago that we are having a baby!!! NATURALLY!! Was I shocked...you bet cha! Surprised?? Still not over the surprise. So the moral of this story is, DON'T EVER GIVE UP HOPE. Hang in there...miracles happen all the time..just look at me. Good luck to you!

i had very irregualar periods my whole life and when they came they were like the end of most womens periods. it turned out i had pcos (poly cystic ovary syndrome) I was lucky in that I knew these things were going on in the beginning and went to see my ob when we decided to start trying. they suggested a chart of temps and after a while we realized i wasnt ovulating and was sent to a fertility doctor who took all the blood tests and confirmed the pcos. they put me on: a drug to bring on my period to start from scratch, an insulin regualting drug and asked me to cut down on my carbs which i did. with in six weeks i had gotten my periods under control and was pregnant!! I was very lucky a lot of women dont get results that quickly. the fertility dr told me that we wouldnt be able to get pregnant with out use of the drugs....so we didnt use anything, my body kept itself regular for a few months after we had my daughter and within ten months after he birth i was pregnant again. i am a truely blessed mother and send my best thoughts and wishes to everyone out there who is ttc. I know it is hard but dont let yourself get upset or stressed about all of this it lessens the chance that you will conceive! Good luck ladies!
