Infertility questions please help!!(short luteal phase.)?

I am going to the doctor tomorrow and I am going to talk to him about a short luteal phase (I have about 10 to 8 day from the time I ovulate till when my period starts.) I have some questions for him but I want to know what else I should ask.

1.what can I do to improve this?
2. if I have this how much harder is it to get pregnant?
3. say I ovulate on the 1st my period begins on the 9th or 10th but the first 2 days are so light I don鈥檛 even need a pad is this normal?
4.is this something that changes from pregnancy to pregnancy?
5.does weight play a roll in this?
6.is this hereditary?

I looked up possible meds: clomid, vitex, vitamin b, progesterone, progesterone cream. has any one used any of these? how long did it take to work? did it work? has anyone else gone through this? which med was most effective? any advise on this subject?

I have had 1 full term pregnancy my daughter in 11/06 and a miscarriage in 09/07. and I have been trying to get pregnant since the miscarriage

You might also ask what different levels of aggressiveness in treatment would mean -- that is, if you wanted to sort of take it easy, versus if you wanted to take a moderately aggressive approach, versus if you are ready to start a family now and want to do what it takes to get there. He should be able to give you an idea of how he might expect each path to proceed.

Good luck!

What course of treatment to follow will likely depend on blood tests after doing a month's worth of fertitliy workup.

It might be as simple as your body is currently not producing enough progesterone to maintain the luteal phase for the 10 to 14 days required to maintain a pregnancy. If it's that simple, you might only need progesterone suppliments.
