Were you diagnosed with INFERTILITY?

Women/men have you been diagnosed with infertility (cant have babies)?

If so would you share your story, I would like to know what were you diagnosed with and if its still possible to do something to get pregnant?

Im asking because I think i might be infertle so I just want to be aware of what causes infertility and what can be done, just so i wont be too surprised!

Thanks!

If you are under 35 and have been trying for a year, you are considered to be suffering from infertility. That does not mean that you will never conceive, just that you may need help.

Personally, my diagnosis was unexplained infertility. My blood work, hormone levels, tubes etc . . . were all fine. My cycle was regular and I ovulated like clockwork. My husand had an average semen analysis - not exceptionally high but not low to the point that it would prevent us from conceiving. Our RE worked with us for about a year - we tried 3 rounds of Clomid with IUI, 3 rounds of injectible fertility meds with IUI . . . and after all of that failed we tried IVF. My twins are now 3 months old. Even after IVF and further testing, my RE has no idea why we could not conceive on our own. He thinks it might be possible that my eggs were not mature when I was ovulating so they were not naturally fertilizing and implanting. Just a theory of his, but we are happy with our twins and none of it matters anymore.

As to causes of infertility, PCOS, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, premature ovarian failure, early menopause, hormonal imbalance, thyroid issues, blocked / scarred fallopian tubes . . . and it is not always the woman - men can have low testosterone, low sperm counts etc . . . and of course my diagnosis, unexplained. Taking care of yourself, maintaining a healthy body weight and making sure that you do not have STD's is the best way you can "try" to prevent it. Go to your doctor for regular check-ups / pap smear etc . . ..

Just keep reminding yourself that most healthy people under 35 are NOT infertile - some just need a bit of help and that is where doctors and science come in. If you have been trying for over a year, see your doctor. If you are over 35 and have been trying for 6 months or more, see your doctor.

There are so many types of issues - reproduction is such a delicate process. As someone who has been through it - don't lose hope and just take it day by day.

Best wishes!

being diagnosed as infertile only means that you've tried for 12 months with no protection and no pregnancy - it doesn't necessarily mean that you can not or will not have children in the future.

I was diagnosed as infertile, with the cause of PCOS. My husband is subfertile - he has low sperm morphology, but a high overall sperm count.

We did 4 cycles of just clomid to get me to ovulate. Then we did 3 cycles of IUI (clomid, hcg trigger and then insemination). Our third cycle was successful and we now have a 2 year old daughter. We're trying to decide if we want to start trying again for a second child. To be honest, the idea of going through the treatments and testing again is not very appealing.

Best of luck to you!

I have pcos and 2 damaged tubes and they have still said i will have children. I may need extra help and may even have to have ivf. There is always hope. There are lots of different types of infertility and some can be fixed. Before you get worried get all the tests done. Some are just blood tests. Good luck

i am not sure what to tell you i know i have only been teying for 2 mths but its been so hard!
My mom was told she would never have kids she took clomid that med lol how ever you spell it and gave up after 2 years and got preg a mth after she quit the meds. they may there is no chance but there not the only who knows best God!

good luck to you and God bless
