Does candidiasis lead to infertility.i have had it for sometime and never concieved but been trying to? Candidiasis itself cannot make you infertile. But candidiasis tends to occur in people with other illnesses, particularly autoimmune dieases, eg hypothyroidism that can make you infertile. I would go and see a doctor and ask for a full range of blood tests to rule out any other cause. Source(s): Fellow candidiasis sufferer Candida is a yeast that normally occurs in the mouth, vagina and intestines without causing any symptoms. This is not an STD, but in women sex may irritate the vagina and allow candida to grow more than usual. If an overgrowth of this fungus occurs, it may produce an itchy vaginal discharge which requires anti-fungal treatment. Male partners do not require treatment. Most conventional doctors don't believe the ailment even exists since there are such a myriad of symptoms associated with the disease, but those that do believe tend to do so passionately. There has never been any sort of ironclad study done on the ability for a woman who suffers from Candida to conceive, the much more common yeast infection form of Candida is thought to interfere in a woman's body chemistry enough as to stop any possible conception. candida cannot cause infertility itself..how annoying it must be for you to sufer with this for a long time...have you ried taking something like accidophilus??not sure if thats correct spelling but its widely available in natural health shops |
