Has anyone had any success using Reiki to aid infertility? |
Has anyone had any success using Reiki to aid infertility? Yes. I am a Reiki Master Teacher in Usui Reiki Ryoho (Traditional Japanese Reiki). I have been involved with Reiki for a little over 10yrs. I have been involved with alternative therapies in one form or another for twice that long. I am Nationally Certified as a Massage Therapist and a Bodyworker (NCBTMB). During my time as a bodyworker, I have worked with several women who were experiencing infertility from different causes. After working with me for a series of sessions, they did have success with becoming fertile. I used a combination of Reiki, abdominal massage, and meridian therapy in all 3 cases. I am now working with a fourth client who has infertility. Reiki seems to be a major component in her healing process. Reiki, when applied to her abdomen, causes her to have emotional release almost instantaneously each time (please note - not everyone who has infertility has stored emotion or will experience emotional release. I am only offering this account to explain how Reiki provides an important tool for aiding such a condition). Emotional release is a part of somatic psychology. The idea is that emotional trauma that the mind does not want to deal with finds a pocket somewhere in the body where it can put this trauma away and store it. After finding such a pocket, the mind continues to use it to store more and more emotional 'junk' rather than deal with it - until the pocket becomes full or it is emptied (through dealing with the traumas or having them released). If the pocket becomes full, it is not uncommon for the client to begin to experience pain and dysfunction in the area of this emotional pocket. When a bodyworker works in this area, these emotions are release and the client usually finds relief. Emotional Release is common in bodywork - like massage. It is even possible in Yoga. Reiki, though, seems to have the most common and profound effects in releasing this emotional junk from clients (Emotional Release may come out as Sadness / depression, anger, laughing, ect..) With the client I am currently working with, this emotional release comes out as sadness, tears, and crying. Each time, however, the effects become less and less, as she let go of more and more negative emotional sludge. In my opinion, because she has chosen to store this emotional trauma in her abdomen, this area is filled with a load of negative emotion and 'energy' - a very hostile place for anything to live. This may be her cause of infertility or at least one component of her health condition. Like anything else - even modern medicine and surgery - nothing is guaranteed. Nothing works 100% of the time. Infertility is a complex subject and can be caused by a number of conditions and effects. As far as Reiki working for infertility, all I can tell you is what I have learned through my own experience. I have seen it first hand. It offers hope - and that in itself can be a precious gift. Also, you may want to look into massage therapy. There have been studies done linking massage / low back pain / physical therapy / infertility. Thanks for the good question. Yes - I have seen it work for several couples. I have also seen other alternate modalties work - from psychotherapy which helps a woman and/or couple to calm the stress in her life that can contribute to infertility - to homeopathy, a course of weekly massage, vitamin and mineral therapy, etc. Prayer has also been very helpful for some couples. It is my experience that alternate therapies can be very effective. However, as with all medical practices, there can be exploitation. People who are experiencing infertility can become desperate because it is a very important quality of life issue - most people dream of eventually becoming parents. The Reiki practitioner should be reputable and help an individual or couple to establish proper expectations - which would include a specific length of time to pursue this course before trying something else. Having clients and friends who are experiencing infertility. I feel that there is a great healing potential in the hands on healing of reiki. perhaps hands off reiki healing might be more apropriate in dealing with the sexual or root charkra. I am a male reiki practioner that has seen great benefits with hands on , and hands off healing , but do not over look the great power with reiki and outside reiki of expectancy and belief, with results. |
