Ina female- if the infection spreads to the ovaries or uterus, through a ruptured appendix- yes- but is EXTREMELY RARE

Any worries- talk to your GP Source(s): Me- student nurse
No, my appendix burst.

Mine caused a major infection which caused a miscarriage and a massive lump in my bowel.
I had emergency surgery to remove part of my bowel and had to get over septicemia.
This was very rare and I nearly died but I am here and still fertile!
