I have been having a quick sharp pain (that goes away in about 30 seconds) in my lower left ab when I do something simple like roll over in bed or stretching while laying down. Its been going on for about 8 months now. We have been TTC for about a year now and have been unsuccesful. I had gotten pregnant in April and had a m/c 7wks later. And no luck since. I finally went to my gyn today and he said that I MIGHT have Indirect Inguinal Hernia. And scheduled a pelvic sono for next week. So I have to wait alllll the way until then to know whats up. I forgot to ask if it had anything to do with infertility, so please answer this for my sanity.
As a nurse, I do not see any reason why an inguinal hernia would cause infertility. I'm assuming that it is not an enourmous hernia, though. I don't think any of the female sexual organs could really be involved with an inguinial hernia, although I may be mistaken. An inguinal hernia allows the intestine to protrude, not any of the sexual organs.. it is a bit more uncomfortable for the male as it enters into the scrotum and does create a degree of pressure.
