What's good for "Irritable Bowel Syndrome"? Sometimes I can hardly move with it.? I think it is called Colifac. Haven't had to use for sometime. I had to get it on prescription. go to gp, get prescription. i did, it works. There are special supplements which are out in the market. Go to your local pharmacist and tell them abour ur problems. They are sure to help and youll be feeling better in no time! you can buy meds from your local chemist, try someting containing buscapan this helps stop spasms which cause the discomfort. You need to go to a gastroenterologist. That can be very serious. There are medications. See one! Eat more fiber, and/or take Miralax(off the shelf) and drink about 3-5 glasses of water a day and you should see some improvement. give it a day or two, peppermint oil capsules from the chemist hardly move? hm. i know!!! they gave me something called Bentyl, i can't remember the chemical name, and it knocked the spasms out like a charm-got it from the doctor-i think they were 10 or 20 milligrams or so but i am not sure-is it irritable bowel u r talking about or just constipation?? not that either one is better!! there are medications to 'stimulate' and ones to 'calm' an overactive bowel-with nothing on hand, ibuprofen may help pain and inflammation, and a cold, carbonated, caffeinted beverage may help move things along if u meant constipation- Im yet to find an answer to that one - I have even had a colonoscopy (now the prep for them sure clears you out!) to make sure I had nothing else and nothing was found so confirmation IBS - At that time I was prescribed a medication for it that stops the cramping and spasms you had to take it just before eating - problem was though for me - it stopped all movement completely - I ended up constipated so stopped taking it. Bentyl!!! It really works!!! first see your g.p as there are lots of different anti- spasmodics that will help with the awful cramps, I use peppermint oil capsules and drink peppermint tea after meals I find that helps with trapped gas. Buscopan (Hyoscine Hydrobromide) - buy it from the chemists if you're in the UK. I was diagnosed just before Christmas with IBS, after months of suffering. Was prescribed all sorts of medicines and given tips on diet. I |
