Reduce stress. Eat at regular times. Eat less grease and fat. Eat more fiber. Eat slower and chew more. Try to eat live culture yogurt daily or take acidophilus capsules daily.
Start keeping a food diary and also a symptom diary and see if you have food triggers that you should avoid.

Drive away the anxiety factor from your personality by practice. Generally Imodium(Tab) works till then.

aloe vera juice

First you may have an underlying condition.. Eat plenty of raw vegetables and fruit.. Plenty of water so your bowels can pass and most importantly Aloe Vera Juice. A lot of people find comfort with Acupuncture for IBS. TCM (traditional chinese medicine) focuses on the digestive tract for most disorders. For example I went to the acupuncture and herbal clinic for additional treatment when I had a broken foot and the guy insisted that I had to balance my bowel. I have had great success with acupuncture for my stress and migraines. However, it is a cumulitive effect...you would need weekly treatments for about 2 months then bi weekly, then monthly etc. Some clinics will offer discounted rates based on income, check in your area.

Try bilberry. Take it orally for acute diarrhea. Bilberry may require adjustment of antidiabetic drugs. It may decrease serum glucose.

Healthy diet, get rid of stress, take probiotics (a digestive supplement)

more fruits & veggies is a definite, agreed. you could also try a gentle colon cleanse using Colonix or Blessed Herbs (I've tried both, I prefer Blessed Herbs, more expensive but definitely works better and is more gentle).

In addition to the helpful suggestions above, (raw food, more fiber, probiotics...) peppermint has been shown to be helpful, and is widely used for irritable bowel syndrome. It reduces abdominal pain and bloating, by eliminating excess gas in the intestines

Natural Calm or Ionic Fizz are both powdered magnesium citrate supplements. Try either one. While this is not herbal, it is a necessary mineral that the body needs and often does not have enough of.
