Wht food to eat if you have irritable bowel syndrome?

plz plz i need help can someone tell me wht food i should eat
thankyou

Many people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) find that eating prompts symptoms of abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea (or, sometimes, alternating periods of constipation and diarrhea), and bloating. Making adjustments to your diet can provide relief.

Limit or eliminate foods that may make diarrhea worse, including caffeine, alcohol, fatty foods, gas-producing foods (such as beans, cabbage, and broccoli), and the artificial sweeteners sorbitol and xylitol (often used in sugarless gum and sugarless candy).
To reduce constipation, add fiber to your diet, drink plenty of water, and get regular exercise.
Keep a daily diary of what you eat and whether you experience symptoms after eating.
Eat slowly and have meals in a quiet, relaxing environment.

What foods should you eat on a diet for IBS?

Eat foods high in fiber, such as:

Fresh fruits and vegetables.
Beans like kidney beans and lima beans.
Whole-grain breads and cereals.
However, you should increase your fiber intake gradually, otherwise too much fiber all of a sudden can cause gassiness.

Drink plenty of water. This will help prevent constipation. If you have diarrhea, you need to drink a lot of water so you don't become dehydrated. Try for eight glasses per day.

Also important when on a diet for IBS, is to eat smaller meals, which may reduce or prevent bloating. Don't eat too quickly, as this may cause you to swallow more air, which will increase gassiness.

Well I watched a programme about hypnotherapy last night, where a Consultant here in Uk (Manchester hospital) used hynotherapy on IBS patients. Very interesting - however he said so called 'healthy' food can make it WORSE, fibre and so on can aggrivate it if inflammed. But am sure best advice is to go see a nutritionist or dietitian, maybe you can get referred by health professional? As a rule of thumb I think it depends if you get mainly constipation, or mainly diarohhea, or both. I found not eating wheat helped mine and just working on reducing stress, some people find peppermint oil or peppermint tea very helpful.
HTH - if it does consider best answering me. Thanks x

Ask yourself, what do I eat everyday? Breads? Pastas? SUGAR? McD's?
Do you eat a lot of meat or consume a lot of diary? Just give a thought about your lifestyle and ask if you live a healthy one. Then do a "google" on natural remedies to try out like millions others have.

White Castle. You won't even know the burgers are doing it if you already have the trots.

im the same as you unfortunately, i candefinately tell you what foods not to eat with this condition, try to refrain from citrus fruits, such as oranges, lemons limes, tinned tomatoes, and stay away from herbs. i hate to say this, but if you like lager, then change your drink, all these things are high in acidity, and plays havoc with our condition,,give this advice a try see how you get on.. much luck.
