My Boston Terrier has a loose stool because she's on meds due to a diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome? |
Meds are Flagiyl and Amoxicylin (spelling). I've taken her off a raw diet and put her on cooked chicken and rice. Any suggestions as to what I can feed her to stop the lose stool? Best advice is to check with your veterinarian, who is aware of your dog's health issues, having prescribed the medication that you are giving. It may be the underlying problem causing the loose stool, not the medications. Meanwhile, it might be good to eliminate the chicken. Rice is not a complete and balanced diet, of course, but you don't intend to give it for long. Limit the quantity, too, to help rest the GI tract. There are convenient commercial diets available from your veterinarian if you do need a long-term change. I hope she is feeling better soon. |
