Please explain Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Is it episodic in nature? If so, what are triggers? Causes?

Can you outgrow IBS? Foods to avoid? Is it stress or food related? Hereditary? Any help is greatly appreciated.

It is stress related, food related and hereditary.
I have it personally and I know that if I get really nervous I first get gassy and then if the stress does not go away I get diarrhea. It is not a pleasant topic to talk about but it is true.

The foods to avoid are up to your body. What do you deal with best? What do you have a hard time with? A good way to keep track of that is to keep a food journal or log for when you have flare ups. Write down what you eat and how it effects you. Then you will know what effects you. I would tell you in general to avoid things that are spicy but then again that varies from person to person.

hi there,
IBS is most definitely a scourge of modern living. It presents with abnormal spasms of the gut, A poor diet and stressful living conditions seem to play an important part in the symptoms that are brought about.

I also found a good page for you that will answer your questions so i took the liberty to quote a bit of it:

"The common sense approach in treating the symptoms of IBS are鈥?br>
* Eating nutritious foods and avoiding irritants
* Maintaining regular elimination
* Including supplements that speed the healing process of the intestinal tract"

"There is no way to prevent IBS

A change in diet, your stress level, medications and how much you exercise can definitely help in avoiding or minimizing an IBS attack. In addition, adding Aloeride庐 to your daily routine will ensure the maximum treatment in eliminating the constant ache and symptoms accompanying this painful condition, thus bringing relief and a sense of normalcy when it comes to maintaining a healthy digestive system."

Hope this is of help to you and good luck!
