Is there any permanent cure for Irritable Bowel Syndrome(IBS)?? Any foods to avoid??

I am suffering from IBS for 2 years. Though i hav consulted few doctors but they are of very little help. Morover myself is getting weaker gradually and it hurts me a lot to waste about half-n-hr or i hr in the bathroom..One of the doctor suggested me to avoid nuts and red meat but i love both. Now-a-days am watching that even eating lot of chocolates is also increasing my problem so plsss help.

you need to see a gastreologist to help in your plight .
i suffer from colitis which is related to chrohn's disease which in turn is related to irritable bowel syndrome .
your diet definitely takes precedence in your lifestyle ---- but you really ; really need to see a specialist in this debilitating problem --- it can play on your mind as well .
weighed in at around 75 kilos when i was well --- then bang --- i dropped to around 35 and thought the big "c" had got me .
you have no idea of the relief when the doctor had done tests and declared what i had was not necessarily curable but ' indeed manageable --- i am now perhaps a little overweight at 80 kgs --- but i still enjoy most yummy luxuries --- when you suffer from something like this --- you're body soon tells you when enough is enough . don't despair --- but do get specialist help
good luck
find out what foods take a while to digest...they normally the ones which cause ibs...and dont eat too much bread!!!!!!!youll get yeast infection and thats not cool...youll end up having to get an enema..but ja,just try avoid the foods that take long to digest and try have lots of yoghurt and jelly and the foods that get digested easily...not too much of dairy products tho
mY IBS was actually due to milk allergy. i was able to switch to a different type of milk. and that helped.

but if you suffer from something called DVT diverticulitis you may have to avoid nuts, seeds, and anything that could become trapped in the intestinal diverticulum.

it sounds like you may suffer from constipation try reducing your calcium intake and include more grains in your diet.
I have IBS, I take Zelnorm 6mg, I can eat pretty much what i want to just not excessively, avoiding nuts is helpful but I don't have any problem with meat. The zelnorm controls my symptoms wonderfully. Don't forget to add fiber one cereal to your diet.
Try natural remedies.. Drink plenty of water, vegetables and fruits. I find eating payapa helps alot. I would also try to avoid coffee, bread (wheat stuff) at all cost and also processed foods. Use olive oil when cooking... Taking 2tsp of pure castor oil also helps (u will need to do proper research first).

Try to eat healty for a month and see if u will feel any difference. Exercise more....... Drink plenty of Water, Water, Water....
