Keep a diet diary so if you do get a bout of IBS you can look back at what you ate. Sometimes dairy products can play a role in IBS, as can other foods. Source(s): http://www.aboutibs.org/

sorry to hear you have got ibis
one way to try and find out what foods are irritating the bowels and colon is keep of them for a month and see if your symptoms improve the thing is with ibs its all kinds of food that can trigger stomach cramps., alternating constipation /Diarrhea ,colon pain , distension , flatulence, it is a very distressing condition in which stress plays its part you don,t mention what med,s the doctor give you i take Colfoac and have done for nine year if nothing else ,there stop the stomach cramps to start with i would try and stick to simple food which you find does.ant up set you and try not to eat too much of one thing like spicy foods etc , i also see your about doctor for extra tablets if and when you on holiday i find upping the dosage may allow you to consume diff rent food, hope you will be OK best wishers
hello,
i am 17 years old and i hav suffered from ibs since ive been little. the only thing that has helped me so far was to take calcium tablets.. i take caltrate 600 D IN THE PINK AND WHITE BOX it has to be this brand because your body needs the D vitamin to digest the calcium. you start by breaking them in half and taking one at night before you go to bed and one in the morning when you wake up.. for at least three days.. and if you are still experienceing diareah then you can up your dosage to one whole tablet three times a day one in the morning one with lunch then one at bedtime... this really works for me but if i get nervous i still get diareah..
if you need me you can message me at brittdoughertyx3 on aim or my email is threatstrueimage2@hotmail.com....

also it would help to eliminate things like veggies from your diet because this can cause cramps. also fatty foods and acidy foods to the same.. if the calcium starts to work for you you can slowly ad milkand all of the other foods to your diet..
good luck
I am 24 and have been diagnosed with IBS for 8 years... I keep away from pretty much all milk products, juices, soda, ciggs, and hot or spicy foods...

The only thing that makes it bad for me is stress which you really cant prevent...

There is medications for it but i choose not to take them. Even though i am in the bathroom probably 3 hours out of the day. : /
