Has there been any advance in the treatment of Irritable bowel syndrome? |
I would like to wake up one day in my life where the day is about me and not my digestive system. Haven't heard anything about it in a couple of years. Try eating a consistent diet of grains, frutis, veggies, and meat. i know exactly what your talking about, was diagnosed with crohn's in Jan. i really sympathise, cos I've been put on the wonder drug, azathioprine. It makes my hair fall out, but it's keeping my flare ups to zero. I'm so lucky. What the person before me says is only partly true, restrict fibre. Don't cut it out completely but don't eat loads of baked beans, for example! if you feel rough, and have lost weight, then go to your doc and ask him to put you on fresubine, no fibre. Its a complete drink that is easy for the body to absorb nutrients from. It comes in loads of different flavours, and if times are really bad. you can live on it! speaking from experience here! i lived on it for a week and it sorted out my flare.it contains all the necessary nutrients that the body needs to survive with. It completely rests the bowel and allows it to heal and right itself with no pressure from having to break down food. I recommend the strawberry, toffee and caramel and vanilla flavours. Best of luck in the future and i hope it stays calm for you! |
