Is it necessary for someone to be obese to suddenly develop IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)?

Does weight play and important role in developing IBS?

IBS is caused by anxiety and some foods. It has little to do with obesity and it is kind of an equal opporunity condition, striking all sizes and weights.ibs affects people of all weights.

if this is about you, ask your doctor to run a test for celiac disease too. the symptoms of both are very similar.

I'm a nurse and many thin people have this same problem. You are normal it happens to all of us. I would ask for something to take for this from your doctor. Take care, you are OK.
ibs does not discriminate as to whether you are obese or thin although most ibs patients are thin, go see a Dr
