Is liposuction a waste of money? |
I have set up two appointments with two local doctors to get lipo on my stomach area. I am very nervous about it. Both doctors have great websites and seem very professional. I'm not nervous about if the surgery will go bad but I'm nervous about wasting 3000-3500 dollars of hard earned money. I know it will make me look better. I have lost some weight. I was 149 pds..now I'm 135 at a height of 5'1''. I still have a ways to go. I'm not significantly overweight. Just a little chubby. I used to have some weight in my theighs. Now it seems that its all stated to accumulate in my tummy area since h.s. (I'm 22 now) I am going to continue losing weight until the surgery and as soon as I'm healed thereafter. I can lose 5-10 pds before the surgery which seems to go coming off quite quickly as I jog every day and diet. Does anyone who has had this surgery have any advice for me? In my opinion, it is a waste of money. People who have this done usually end up regaining the weight. Your best bet is to just keep up with the exercise. You've done good so far on your own and yes it takes time. Weight training is a good way to lose those extra pounds. It worked for me. Keep your money, I'm sure there are better ways you could spend it. (like buying some weights,LOL)Good Luck! Because of you H.S. you will always have scar tissue on your tummy, 2 of my aunts had an H.S. One of them regret getting Lipo because the tissue just came back, My other aunt just exercises that target area and there's a little tummy but nothing to worry about she can wear a two piece and feel comfortable in it. Before you decide thing about if you are going to regret spending 3000 on something you can work out by exercising and that money could going to something else like fixing up your home paying stuff off, a room makeover, or whatever. Whatever you decide is up to you if you feel that it is the right thing to do then don't hold back and do it, if you arn't sure then don't rush into it and if there's something telling not to then don't do it. You know what? I think that if it gives you boost, will help you stay motivated or just make you feel better, go for it. Some people DO gain the weight back but certainly not "most". And those people are obviously not incorporating lipo into a careftully-followed lifestyle like you're doing. They're looking for a quick-fix and lipo, as you know, isn't that. Best Wishes. At your age, I would recommend alternative lifestyle. Exercises, healthier food and more sex. |
