Do you perform home liposuctions in your basement? |
Man charged after deadly home liposuction Updated Mon. Jul. 31 2006 1:41 PM ET Associated Press FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- A man was arrested on charges of practising medicine without a license after a woman died during a liposuction procedure performed in the basement of a home, authorities said Monday. Luiz Carlos Ribeiro, a native of Brazil, was to be arraigned in district court on Monday following the death of a 23-year-old woman Sunday. The Middlesex District Attorney's Office would not release the identity of the woman who died. An autopsy was scheduled. Police also charged Ribeiro with drug possession, illegal possession of a hypodermic device and possession of a controlled substance. A spokeswoman for the district attorney's office said she did not know what type of drugs. Ribeiro's wife, Miranda Ribeiro, 49, also was charged with drug possession. I'm sorry about the woman and her family, but geez, you'd think people would have more common sense than to have lipo done in someone's basement instead of a hospital. To your original question---NO question of my own: what do they charge his clients with terminal ignorance ??? NO! that's suicide! |
