Lung cancer (extensive sclc )?

My mum is a lung cancer patient. During the day she needs Oxygen tank to support her breathing... is she in any kind of dangerous? Usually she does not needs the oxygen tank to support her breathing only during the night time when she is sleeping. However, since ystday she needs it all the time. I am very worry. Anyone can advice?

I am sorry to hear of your mother's illness and its progression.

Whenever there is a significant change for the patient, such as an increased need for oxygen, it means the doctor needs to evaluate what is going on. It could be related to an infection or such, which hopefully can be successfully treated, but when you give this information to the doctor he likely will need to do an exam, gather more data, and run more tests to determine what is going on and more importantly how to address the problem.
I hope he's able to help her out.

Continue to let her know you love and care about her and are there for her. See the doctor as soon as possible as she does need medical evaluation with a substantial change.

God bless.

Her lung function may be decreasing with the progression of the cancer, requiring more oxygen to sustain breathing. She should see her oncologist soon.

sorry to here about her. my mom and grandma both die of lung cancer. she may be getting a infection, or the cancer may be spreading. she needs to go in and find you which one? i have been there its a hard thing to go Thur.
my prays go to you and your mom.

Maybe the humidity is hi depending where you live or allergies may be irritating her lungs.Make sure you call her doctor first thing in the morning and if it gets to bad then go to the er.

i know what you are going through my mom died a few years ago from colon cancer it is very scary and it is a hard thing to go through. i got a counsler to help me through it. she had it for 2 years before we found it and had it for 4 months before she died. i dont want tomake you feel bad but i want you to know the truth she is in some danger of breathing. but try not to worry because when i started to worry i had long term effects as in homesickness and being afraid of life that lasted 2 years so the best thing to do is to be aware not scared.

Ask the doctor. They know better.
