Mum has been diagnosed with lung cancer.?

im 17 (18 on wednesday)
My mum has been diagnose with lunch cancer It has spread to her liver and spine.

we have been told its incurable and she may only have 9-12 months to live. i am the only unrelgious person in my family and i feel terrible whe nim around her and my older sister brings up an argument about me not beliveing in god, because my mum is probably scared and i think her beliefe in god calms her i have no problem that they belive in that i just wish my sister wouldnt bring it up infront of my mum as she probably doesnt want to hear me argue with my sister there is no heaven.

Im scared to be without my mum. school is becomming hard because im so tired all the time i have no motivation to go and im re doing year 11 because i quit halfway through last year and this to happen while i was trying to complete year 11 is just a big kick in the face. i guess this is why i dont belive in god.

Just put aside your arguments the best you can. Talk to your sister in private, and tell her your feelings about how it affects your mum when she argues about your beliefs in front of her.

My girlfriend's mum also has lung cancer, and has lived over 2 years with it. The best thing that helps is to be positive around her. Smile, laugh, have a good time. It will help her live longer. Negative feelings will only give her stress, which will negatively affect her health. A positive attitude is good medicine. That's part of what religion often gives to people, some hope. You may not agree that there is a heaven or a god, but try not to change your mum's or sister's opinion about it. If your sister starts to bring it up again, take her aside and tell her that talking about it will hurt your mum, not just emotionally, but also physically. Compromise with your sister to leave your disagreement out of it.

your right your sister does not need to bring that up in front of your mom, when she does this just walk out of the room and don't fight about it in front of her. charish the days or months you have left. we all get tired but get through school if not for yourself but for her make her proud before she passes on.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, and theres nothing I can say that will make it better.
I found some lung cancer information on video, and maybe this can help:

My son you must behave in front of your mother, and I know it is hard for you to admit this fact but it is not Gods fault that your mom is in that state, you have to believe in God he is there and able to help you when time comes

Tell your sister not to discuss this infront of your Mother because she is suffering enough.Speak to your school guidance counselor.

Jeska, my heart goes out to you. I lost my mother to bowel cancer almost exactly a year ago. I was thirty at the time and I found it difficult to deal with, so I can't imagine what it must be like to go through that at your age.

I'm also not a religious person. I'm pretty much an atheist but I like to keep an open mind. I'm not sure how religious beliefs can help you when you lose your mother at an early age. You would have thought a loving God would not take the person who is closest to you when you have a whole life in front of you.

Your sister is wrong for bringing this up in front of your mother. You should not be arguing with each other but should be caring for your mother.
