How can u get lung cancer if never smoke?

How can u get lung cancer if never smoke?

Second hand smoke can contribute to lung cancer. Asbestos and other pollutants also cause lung cancer. A friend of mine who never smoked a day in her life died from lung cancer. She worked around fumes from pollutants most of her adult life. My dad has asbestosis which is the precursor to lung cancer caused from asbestos.

Like other people have stated, second-hand smoke increases a person's chances of developing lung cancer tremendously, especially if you live with a smoker. It's like the saying goes, "They get the filtered end." Also, sometimes lung cancer can be a result of another cancer that has moved or "metastasized" to the lungs and it's hard to determine the place of origin. There are other cancer-causing agents in the air we breathe other than nicotine and tar. Chemical exposure is a big contributor, As an example, hair stylists subject themselves daily to harsh chemicals in hair sprays, mists, bleach, and dyes. Hope this helps.

First of all, you have a higher risk of lungcancer when you smoke. It's not the only cause.
Second, with all the cars driving, the industry, air polutioning.... you inhale that every breath.
All our lungs are dirty of the air. So when you have a greater risk of lung cancer (genetic or else) then a simple air polution will do the tric.
And there are a lot of types of lungcancer that are genetic.

Lung disease is caused by breathing in fumes and other things that irritate and damage the lungs and airways. Cigarette smoke happens to be just one of these irritants.

Most of your correspondents here are perfectly correct, many forms of air pollution can cause lung cancer.

Also, there could simply be a genetic component.

of course. and even if u sat in a closed box ur whole and was never exposed to smoking u can still get lung cancer.
