Mortality rates for lung cancer?

Can anyone help me with some charts and tables that show mortality rates for lung cancer through various years?
Its for some research I have to do,
Thanks

Here are some links to charts

years ago if you had lung cancer that was it always terminal, but these days they can do a lot to halt the cancers progress.i have met several people with it who are leading near normal lives.

The rather exhaustive answer above didn't mention the TYPE of cancer. Small-cell, non-small-cell, etc. That also has a BIG effect on prognosis.

Despite advances in treatment, the prognosis remains poor, with only 15% of patients surviving > 5 yr from time of diagnosis. For patients with stage IV (metastatic) disease, the 5-yr overall survival rate is < 1%. Improving survival requires focusing attention on smoking cessation, early detection, and research into the genetic profile of lung tumors and developing novel forms of therapy. (Merck)
The earlier the cancer is found, the better the chances of survival. Lung cancer is a deadly disease. Nearly 60% of people with lung cancer die within a year. However, some people are cured and go on to live many years.
Cure rates are related to the stage of disease and whether you are able to have surgery.
* Stage I and II cancer can be cured with surgery, sometimes in more than 50% of cases.
* Stage III tumors can be cured in some cases, but cure rates are much lower than earlier stage NSCLC
* Patients with stage IV disease are almost never cured, and the goals of therapy are to extend and improve the quality of their life.
How well a patient does depends on how much the lung cancer (small cell) has spread. This type of cancer is very deadly. Only about 6% of people with this type of cancer are still alive after 5 years.
(MedlinePlus)
Lung cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the world. In the UK, it is the second most-frequently occurring cancer, accounting for 1 in 7 new cases.
Nine in ten of these can be squarely blamed on the pernicious effects of tobacco smoking - and unfortunately the majority of cases cannot be cured.
The risk of lung cancer increases with age. It is less common in people under 40.
Recently, there has been a decrease in the incidence in men, but lung cancer is now rising in women in many countries - this is directly related to changing smoking habits. (BBC News)
