My mother has throat cancer and my father passed away of small cell lung cancer. Should I be screened?

Were they smokers? If they were (and assuming that you don't), I'm pretty sure that your chances are just as high from second hand smoke. So, yes, get yourself screened.

You should be sure your doctor is aware of this. Cancer isn't necessarily hereditary, but a tendency toward it can be. Talk to your doc.
It seems that you have more chance to get cancer than other people; however, just check your body with your doctor twice in a year----and do some simple exercise to check on yourself to delay the time that your doctor tells you "sorry, but it seems you got cancer".
so probley so. cancer runs in my family also and the doctors told me since that i am in high risk and need 2 be screen that least 1 time a year so u might wanna get checked
