Has any body lost any one to lung cancer?

MY MOTHER AS JUST BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH LUNG CANCER,SHE AS A 8CM TUMOR ON HER RIGHT LUNG.ONE DOCTOR SAID THEY NEEDED TO TAKE A SAMPLE OF THE LYNTH NODES.THEN THE DOCTOR THIS MORNING SAID SHE WAS'NT STRONG ENOUGH.SO THEY WILL JUST DO CHEMO INSTEAD,THEN IN 8 WEEKS IF IT HAS'NT HALTED IT,WE WILL HAVE TO MAKE A DECISION IF WE CARRY ON TREATMENT OR LET HER DIE WITH OUT ANY MORE TREATMENT,IS THIS HOW IT WORKS OR IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE,BY THE WAY SHE AS NO INSURANCE AND SHE DOES NOT QAULIFY FOR MEDICARE BECAUSE SHE AS ONLY BEEN IN THE COUNTRY FOR 3 YEARS.ONE DOC DID SUGGEST TO TAKE HER BACK TO UK...IF ANYBODY CAN GIVE US ANY INFO IT WOULD REALLY HELP AS ALL THIS IS NEW TO OUR FAMILY...THANKS BRENDAN

I'm really sorry to hear about your mum,,my father died when I was 17 of lung cancer, he didn't tell us till the last minute, we only had 1 week with him before he died, I hate to sound morbid but I'd cherish every minute we had if I had that time again.
I don't think bringing her back to the UK would help much as you'd surely pay for any treatment necessary if it would help.
i feel for you as it sounds as your in US being on the nhs you get treatment here until every possibility is exhausted! my dad has had hodkins lymphoma the bad one for 5 years and has fought it off!!! its more personal spirit than medical care! but if you are uk citizens get her back here and get her in christies! thats the best place for her!!!! im being genuine and honest when i say that but she will need to be referred as thats what happened with my dad!
whoever thumbsdowned me is a loser as ive lost both my parents to a form of cancer and im undergoing treatment to cervical cancer! you freeking losers you have no souls at all do you! !!!!!! if you thumbsdowned you never expierenced losing someone to cancer or ever had to watch your parents prepare to die did you no!!!!!!!!!! sorry rant over!!
Wow, I am so sorry to hear this... my sisters husband had lung
cancer and they operated and took a half of one lung, then about
a year later, they had to go in and take the other half of his other
lung. He has health problems still, but he is still with us.

ALSO, I had a really good friend who developed lung cancer and
they operated on her and she had chemo and radiation. Just
when her "7" year clearance approched the cancer showed up
in her brain. She had surgery, lost a lot of her memory, and
about a year later she died.

This is a terrible event in your family, and now is the time
to gather around your mother and support her, let her know
that you love her. ALSO, I was wondering if she was to
go back to the UK, would she be able to get treatment there?
Then you also need to ask yourself, is she able to go back.
AND is there someone there that can be with her - because she
is gonna need a LOT of care and support.

Best Wishes to you and your family
Life with two lung cancer victims
It is possible to have the lung removed, there are quite a few people living that have one lung. Talk to the doctors about it. She should have the lymp nodes checked as well.

All I will say is to Pray to God that he heals your mother or that she does not suffer Long. It is a terrible disease and with to days technology you would think they could do more? yet People are taken from us in all ways, be it a car crash or heart attach we all go>>>I will pray for you and your Mother God Bless you Both!
