My husband was dignosed three years ago with lung cancer, . He never done radiation. it kills faster dos it? |
husband has lung cancer , dos radion theropy kill faster ? The chances of him getting better and living longer are higher with radiation therapy. There are potential risks but they are so low compared to the good that it might do to your husbands lungs. Come on! You can make him do it. Radiation therapy helps kill of the cancer cells and shrink the tumors. It also prevents mets. Good luck to him. No, it is a treatment option so it is supposed to treat, not kill. If indicated, your doctors should have been offering you. Where indicated, the side effects are going to be addressed thoroughly I really wish I knew that answer. My father was diagnosed about 6 months ago with the same thing, and he refuses to do anything about it. Thats my dad and if he chooses to do nothing about it thats on him...its his life and there's nothing I can do other then to advised him for his own good, but your husband,...to me thats more personal...its your "Husband" for God sake,...the one you intimate with, the shoulder you lean on, your right hand man. I personally would go crazy God forbid something like that was ever to happen to my partner, and my partner does nothing about it. I wish you both Good Luck, and for his own sake advise him to seek help...especially if he loves you, and doesnt want to see you hurt or suffer cause something bad happen to him like death. My thought and prayers are with you. no i had radiation for 36 weeks i herd kimo because something with your cells Its a touchy subject. To me I think if a person finds the cancer before it spreads and treats it immediately they have a good chance of it doing good. But on the switch side I think that if the cancer is not found until it has spread and becomes abundant in the person that treatment will only weaken their body, and their body will not be able to fight as well. Do I think it kills faster, i dunno, but I think that if a doctor doesn't take into consideration how abundant it is and the weakness of the person than he is putting his patient at a higher risk. My father died 6 years ago to the day from lung cancer. It started off with fluid on the lungs and he had this drained. He was given between 2 weeks and 2 months before he died. He actually survived for 18 months. He was not given the chance to have any radiation or any other treatment. I suspect that this was because the cancer was too far advanced and any such treatment would have been futile. This year my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. They operated to remove the lump and removed numerous lymph nodes. She has had 10 sessions of chemotherapy and is due to start 3 weeks of radiotherapy shortly. In addition she is being given herceptin every 3 weeks. The chemo, radiotherapy and herceptin are all geared to reduce the chance of the cancer returning. The treatment is not life threatening provided the patient follows doctor's advice and it is properly supervised. |
