Whats the life expectency, for a person with lung cancer? |
Whats the life expectency, for a person with lung cancer? Depends on many factors http://www.lung-cancer-info.org... Depends on the stage, meaning how advanced it is. If it's spread to other organs, sorry. it dependes on the age, the health status of the person, how far the cancer is ..... A lot of think can contribute to that. They might live a healthy life if it is only in one lung and they remove it. (and also hasn't spread) Also depends what stage the cancer is at and how old the person is. You need a lot more info than what you have given here. I had an uncle diagnosed with lung cancer and told he had 2 to 3 years and died very quickly(a couple of months). I had a relative with the same who was told by the doctor he wouldn't live to see his next Christmas. That was 30 years ago and he is still going. With no trace of cancer anywhere in his body. Doctors can be wrong!!! So even with a terminal disease you never know how long you got. But the doctors are usually right in their estimate so if a doctor gave you a certain amount of time, that is probably what you got left. Depends on the type of cancer and how early it is found. An undifferentiated small cell carcinoma spreads and kills rapidly. A well differentiated squamous cell or adenocarcinoma may be cured by early surgery if no spread. What stage? Stage 4 usually less than 2 months. My husband was diagnosed March 20th and passed away on June 6th. His cancer had spread throughout his body He had no symptoms. It depends on what stage you are. We went thru chemo radiation gamma knife tarceva to no avail but like I said by the time he was diagnosed it was everywhere. Good luck and God Bless |
