My dad's doctor said that he had signs of lung cancer; what does this mean?

Having signs of lung cancer and actually being diagnosed with lung cancer are two completely different things. Your dad's doctor has to do further testing to be sure. Then, and only then, can he treat your dad with whatever he needs to be healthy again. Lung cancer is not always deadly, especially when caught in the early stages. Your dad will know exactly what he has to do after the doctor gives him a complete diagnosis. All the best to you and your dad!
It is a very very very very very bad lungs problem.
Maybe he means he has all the symptoms without having done the chest x-ray. Some of the symptoms are, difficulty breathing, coughing up blood,chest pain,loss of appetite,weight loss and general fatigue.
