Can I bring mum ovr to Australia 4 treatmnt 4 lung cancer (frm uk) & does NHS subsidise any costs (or medicare

I live in Oz and mum has been recently diagnosed with LC, her & dad were due to come here to stay with me. Can she still get treatment here? I am worried I won't be able to afford all the necessary costs. Does anyone help subsidise these? If anyone knows about this please help. Or let me know who I can contact re this.I am sure her recovery chances will be better in this environment rather than in cold, miserable England. Thanklyou so much.

I suggest you find a nearby Cancer Center that you trust and go meet with a social worker there. It is also important to know what kind of treatment your mom needs (i.e. Surgery, Chemo, radiation, or just hospice care). You should find out how sick she is because it might be better for her not to fly or travel. If she has started treatment in England already, it is better to have a continuity of care there.
