My lungs feels heavy and they hurt a little bit, is it the start of lung cancer? |
hello everyone, lately ive been smoking again but not very much. the amount of cigarettes i smoke are about 5 to 7 a day, not a whole pack, never. still i have been a great smoker ten years ago, from when i was 14 til i was 21 i was smoking loads, a pack a day at the time. then when i was 23 i stopped for a year then started again but not as heavily. anyways, lately my lungs are hurting a little bit, i feel i breathe less properly, (short breath) and it's like there's a needle in my lungs, they feel heavy. what is it? (by the way i have stopped smoking since it started to hurt) thansk for your advices. =++ The signs of lung cancer are : Smoker's cough that persists or becomes intense. Persistent chest, shoulder, or back pain unrelated to pain from coughing. Increase in volume of sputum. Wheezing. Nonsmoker's cough that persists for more than 2 weeks. Change in color of sputum. Blood in sputum. Repeated episodes of pneumonia or bronchitis. Other symptoms that can be related to late-stage lung cancer can include: Fatigue. Loss of appetite. Headache, bone pain, aching joints. Bone fractures not related to accidental injury. Neurologic symptoms, such as unsteady gait and/or episodic memory loss. Neck and facial swelling. Unexplained weight loss., your body talks to you; it is so wonderful that you stopped when she didn't like it. I would still check with a doctor. Source(s): Women's Health -- Tracee Cornforth Could be pneumonia or asthma- See a doctor!!! do you get any wheezing? it could just be asthma if your lucky. I would go to a doctor though Don't be silly, you probably have bronchitis. Get it checked out, if you leave an infection in your lungs it can turn into pneumonia. With cancer they always say the first sign is fast weight loss, if you are at all concerned then go to you GP and demand bloodtests and they can do this successfully and see whether or not its cancer. Secondly, when i smoked my lungs hurt from time to time, you are more likely to catch infections etc, your lungs are under more stress as you get older too. If you are really concerned about the effects of smoking... maybe this is a good time to think about quiting?? Just a thought X Could be pleurisy and there are numerous causes,my wife had pleurisy twice before she developed breast cancer---go and see your doctor |
