Has anyone had lung cancer? If so, what was some of your symptoms at first?

I haven麓t had lung cancer, but my Mom did, and the spring before she was diagnosed in the fall, she had a cough that would not quit-I remember having to cover my ears at night because it was so loud. In the fall, she had pain in her shoulder (her cancer had metatatised to the bone) and she had a scan and it was lung cancer w/mets.

She lived for 2 years, and died 8 years ago this Aug. 28th.

BTW, yes, she smoked-damn cigarettes and the people that make them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Lung cancer often does not show any symptoms until it has reached an advanced stage, which is a reason why few lung cancers are detected at an early stage. The disese may be found initially when individuals are undergoing tests for other medical conditions.

As the cancer grows, blocking airway passages and eventually metastasizing, the following symptoms may appear:

Persistent cough
Coughing up blood (hemoptysis)
Wheezing
Breathing difficulties (shortness of breath, wheezing, pain)
Dysphagia (swallowing problems)

More signs and symptoms of lung cancer are below, as well as treatment options:
