Do you know about 'SLE' -Sistemic Lupus Erithematosus? from where or source they get SLE?

I have SLE, you don't 'get' Lupus, it is a mal function of your immune system....
It is treatable, but is chronic, in that it can spring up again with out warning. They never say we are 'cured' they say we go into 'remission'.....

I think it is caused by something going wrong in the immune system. That's why it's called a systemic disease. Check it out on www.webmd.com or www.wikipedia.com.

Yes I know about lupus, the cause of lupus is not known. their is no evidence that it is hereditary, but people within the same family may be predisposed to getting lupus. their are theories that it is triggered by allergies, viruses, but as of yet there is no firm evidence.
Systemic Lupus Erythromatosis is an auto immune disorder where the immune system attacks our own body, normally our immune system protects us from colds foreign bodies, ie germs etc. but with SLE the immune system veiws our body as the enemy and attacks our organs and can cause permanent damage. with medications this damage can usually be controlled and minimised if not totally prevented. sometimes the disease can also go into remission but it does not go away. there are two types of lupus. one that effect the slin and one that attacks the bodies organs,some people can have both. there is a great support group that offers info in its links at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/LUP...

Systemic lupus erythematosus is an disease where your immune system attacks your own body. The cause is not known for sure. There is no cure.
