Does anybody knows what Lupus is?

Please answer these question because I needed so much
1.how does it happen? What cause it
2.What are the risk that Lupus patients take?
3.What are the chances for patients to be hundred percently recovered
4.could the patients be pregnant?
5.And I have heard the rumor, most of the Lupus Patients will have a broken marriage, what do you think?
6.Could it be inherited or passed down to the child they have?

No one knows the true cause.
All lupus patients vary a great deal with their symptoms, but it is an auto immune disease. which means simply put that the immune system of the patient actually attacks itself, can just attack the skin Discoid lupus or can attack the organs of the body called Systemic Lupus some patients do have both kinds while others can have one or the other. It is a hard disease for Doctors to diagnose because it mimics so many other diseases. In my experience, also many who hae been diagnosed with lupus also have other connective tisssue disorders such as Fibromyalgia, Srogens, RA, as I say each case is different. A positive ANA test is indicative that a patient has lupus, but you can have a negative ANA and still have lupus.
Once you have lupus you always have lupus, but can go into periods of remission, some people have mild to severe symptoms which can be controlled by medication there is however to date no cure for Lupus. lupus can flare up due to stress, sometimes it can get worse as the years go on or can stay the same - or symptoms can disappear for extende periods of time (remission)
patients can get pregnant, patients may however need to go off meds so as not to harm the baby. also may have difficulty carrying the baby full term. a test that can be carried out is for antiphospholipid protiens in the blood this can sometimes cause added complications in pregnancy because this can cause blood clots this can be monitored and helped by blood thinners. most pregnancies proceed as normal and result in a healthy child. I myself have 4 children with a diagnosis of lupus with a positive antiphospholipid blood test, so yes somene with lupus can get pregnant and deliver perfectly healthy babies.
Lupus is stressful on many relationships, but it helps if the partners can talk openly and go along to docs appointments to clear up questions + so that they can understand lupus better, this is not going to go away, so get educated. I am married 22 years and the cracks are showing but we are together.
It is said that it is not hereditary, but it does run in families what explains this is that somehow that people in the family are genetically more pre disposed to getting it.

It is hosted by the Lupus Foundation of America.

1. The cause of lupus is not known, but researchers believe that some people are genetically predisposed to lupus and develop it in the presence of triggers like sunlight, tobacco smoke, stress, certain viruses and some medications.

2. Everybody takes their own risks in life. What on earth do you mean?

3. Lupus is incurable. Lupus is a remitting/flaring disease. It can go into remission, but the patient still has the disease.

4. Yes lupus patients can become pregnant but the pregnancies are high risk and require careful medical monitoring. Some of the lupus meds can cause birth defects and infertility.

5. 75% of marriages where one partner has a chronic illness will end in marriage.

6. If a child inherits the gene that predisposes them to lupus there is only a 10% chance that they will ever develop it.
