Lupus diet to live by and a good viatiamn to take daily for tiredness?

I've found that since adopting a blend of the McDougall, Fuhrman, and Quillin diet, that my diabetes and fibromyalgia have all but disappeared. I no longer need any medication and my energy level has returned. Chronic diseases are best dealt with by eating the healthiest, most nutritious diet you can muster. That means, natural foods... those that we evolved around. (Or were created for us, if you prefer).

Hi,

I have a couple suggestions for you.

My first suggestion concerns supplements.

If you're looking to increase your energy, then Vitamin B12 is a great way to go. It's also very good for a lot of secondary issues commonly associated with Lupus as well (such as brain fog, memory issues, lack of clarity) and it's also good for calming nerves. I would recommend a sublingual version (that dissolves under your tongue, to increase the absorption).

If you have Lupus then you really should take EFA's (essential fatty acid) to help reduce the inflammation. If your joints are involved, then glucosamine sulphate with MSM and chondroitin is also very important and can help relieve you of a lot of pain.
Here is a site with a good write up on a sublingual vitamin B12, EFA's, joint supplements (and others) www.vitamins-and-health-info.com

In terms of diet, there are a lot of 鈥榙o鈥檚 and don鈥檛s which are hard to summarize. Certainly you want to avoid spicy foods, caffiene, chocolate, alcohol, aspartame, and highly 'acidic' foods. Many people suggest staying away from meat...however, that's debatable. Veggies are great (avoid the nightshades), however people react differently to certain foods so it's a really good idea to keep a journal of how your body reacts (since food can and does trigger flares).

Hope that helps!!
