I have a painful, incurable disease (Lupus) and I lost the will to go on with my life, what should I do?

I am trying to reverse/cure this disease through diet now, and even if there are good results, still, some symptoms will probably never disappear, and I lost such big parts of my life already, I have a bad job, almost no proper education, constant sorrows about money, difficulties with my husband (who is of course tired of me being so weak and sick all the time, even if he tries to support me).

There is no real cure for my disease, there is a maybe cure through diet (http://www.lupusrecoverydiet.com/ ), I started this, and there are already nice results, but still, this diet is harsh/difficult to maintain for somebody unused to such food choices (no desserts, no cake, no potato chips!), I have this constant Lupus headache and nausea and I feel so weak and tired most of the time... So much I HAVE to do, and no bright future? Only people complaining about my pains and "laziness" (I need horrible amounts of sleep), and demanding, demanding, demanding...

Any (spiritual) help? Please...

Thank you for so many kind answers in such a short time. I am crying right now.
My husband kindly cares for me, but he is a human, and he is working hard every day, he cannot be always around and cheer me up.

Please don't give up. I will keep you in my prayers. I believe in a God that heals even when the doctors say that a disease is incurable. A friend of mine was told that she had ovarian cancer and that she would never have children.....we and many other Christians prayed that Jesus would heal her, and she became pregnant just a few years ago! There is a God who heals out there, His name is Jesus Christ and all you have to do is invite Him into your heart and life and ask Him to heal you. You can pray this prayer sincerely: Lord Jesus, please come into my life and be my Savior and Lord. Please forgive my sins, and give me the gift of eternal life.
You need the faith and faith comes by the word of God(the bible) meditate on healing scriptures from the Holy Bible and the Lord will heal you if you believe and ask Him to heal you. His will is for you to be healed.
The Lord healed my grandmother of Lukemia, and he healed my little girl I almost lost her. Don't worry just put your trust in Jesus and be patient, He will heal you.

be humble with God, i cant say i know what you are going through because i honestly dont, but have faith and continue fighting, keep a whole heart and dont be afraid.

*hugs*

Just because there is no cure now, doesn't mean there won't be one in a few years. Autoimmune research is big these days, and I wouldn't be surprised if an effective treatment comes out relatively soon.

God bless you. My sister had lupus. It's not an easy one. Pray and meditate, answers will come.

If you need the rest the people that love you should understand. Maybe you should try to educate them on your disease. I know that its hard to live with such pain my father has an incurable disease and has lost the will to live as well but I tell him to try to focus on the things in life that have meaning to him such as his granddaughter and that usually brings him out of the depression. Try to get a therapist that can help you and when you are at that lowest low think of the happiest memory that you have and try to go on with life.

Sorry to hear about your challenges. I just want you to know that you are not alone in your suffering, and there are kind strangers out there who do care. I don't have any answers other than you can only do the best you can under the current situation.
Accept yourself where you are *now* and take all things one step at a time, one day at a time, and one moment at a time. You can't change the reactions of others around you. Accept it hurts, they are flawed humans, and let it go if you can.

All your life you have tried to do right. Every time you fell short you asked God for forgiveness and to have mercy on you. When you die, He tells you that in the eyes of the world, you have led a wonderful life, but the problem is, the only people that go to Heaven are those who are spiritually pure. Since none of us are, he sends us to another place from which we will not be released until we have paid the last penny. Catholics call that place Purgatory and, no, that word is not in the Bible. Now, all the Catholics know you are there so they pray for you and offer up their hardships in this life so that you will get out of Purgatory quicker.
So, what you do now is offer up to God for the souls in Purgatory all of your pains and suffering. What happens? Many souls are released and go to Heaven. Then you die and those souls that you helped get to Heaven now pray for you.

Continue the diet, If you are not saved ask him to save you ....then Pray this prayer. Lord I know that you know me, and my needs please help me to help myself. You are good and mighty. I believe in you. Touch and heal my body. You are a healer. You are a deliverer Straighten my desires to know you better. Help My husband as he helps me. Give him patience Thank you Lord in Jesus name. Amen

Write it down and pray it every day. Over and over during the day if need be. God Bless you.

I am sorry to hear about your affliction and I hope someday a cure would come! <<<<hugs>>>>

I hope I can help you spiritually; at least your soul would be healed even if your body can't be healed. But I am not a good writer and can't express myself much through writing as I am more of a "verbal" person. I can explains things better when its spoken rather than written.

Bless you from the Spirit that is within you!

I'm in constant pain due to an old knee injury and some other health issues, and I understand how draining it is to hurt all the time. People don't always understand, and even when they do, they sometimes get impatient with what they see as a situation you "should" be able to just tough out. (Your husband sounds like mine as far as that's concerned.) Unless they've lived through something like what you're experiencing, they really don't know what it's like.

One thing that has helped me is to offer God my pain as a spiritual sacrifice for the peace of the world and the needs of others. That allows me to see the pain as something positive, and it takes my mind off of myself. If I say a prayer for someone else when the pain is really bad, I feel as if I am adding an extra "kick" to my prayers.

If you can find a way to give your suffering a spiritual dimension, I think you'll find that it's easier to bear. Pick someone or some situation that really needs an answer from God, and dedicate the day's hurt and pain to prayer for them. I think you'll find that it really helps.

I鈥檓 sorry to hear about your situation, and I honestly believe you should seek counseling. There should be some agencies local to your area that offer psychological services on a sliding scale. If you can鈥檛 afford even a small amount, then there are a few places you can go for free service.

If you鈥檙e looking for resources in your area, but are having a hard time finding them, please e-mail me with your location and I鈥檒l do whatever research I can for you.

Depending on the severity of your condition, you may also qualify for some homecare service to help with things like housework and hygiene.

You should also get a second or even third opinion on your condition, and discuss medications that could control your migraines.

As to spiritual advice, it would be easier if you developed a relationship with a local pastor. The kind of spiritual help you need will take time and attention 鈥?reading, journaling, and other homework will likely be part of it.

As much as he鈥檚 willing, include your husband in these activities. It鈥檚 quite likely he鈥檚 hurting, too, and he鈥檚 probably feeling at the end of his rope as well.

Its seems you need a good healthy dose of LOVE!!! Seriously, you need the kind of love that you know will never fade, not romantic love.

If you feel you are not getting it, or don't believe in a higher power remember that...

I Love You.

I have no clue as to how much pain you are experiencing, but I say to you I know I love you.

Accept this: the way other people treat You is not about YOU; it is about THEM. Try to disregard these opinions with patience.

I CAN say i know how You feel. My incurable disease is Multiple Sclerosis, very similar to Your Lupus. I remember once, with all the sleeping, i wondered if perhaps my purpose is to dream. . . .

Sometimes this is the wrong thing to say, but i have to give it a shot -- sometimes happiness is a choice. Why be miserable and impose it on others? I have called myself a waste of air. It did nothing to improve my life, so i shut up. I say this to show You, i DO know how You feel.

Yes, get a counselor. Blessings.

I don't know what you standing with God is and I don't know if you even believe in God and the work of the cross, but I encourage you to read these scriptures and give it some consideration. If you were taught that God is cruel and wicked I believe these scriptures will help to show you the true God that we as Christians serve. Not a wicked, cold impersonal old "fart", but a God of love that cares deeply about his creation. So much so that he was willing to be bolted to a tree in one of the most heinous forms of capital punishment ever invented by depraved man in order that he might heal our diseases, and snatch us back from the enemy.

There are many more I could show you, but these should get you started. There is healing in the name of the Lord Jesus. Nothing is incurable for Him!

"3 He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely HE took up *our* infirmities
and carried *our* sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.

5 But HE WAS PIERCED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS
HE WAS CRUSHED FOR OUR INIQUITIES;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and ***by his wounds we are healed***.

6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and ***the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all***. " - Isaiah 53:2-6

"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and ***nothing shall by any means hurt you.***" - Luke 10:19

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." - John 10:10

"So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10

"He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you." - Exodus 15:26

"Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you," - Exodus 23:25

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7

If I were in constant pain, and had lost my will to live, I'd at least give illegal drugs a try before I ever even thought about killing myself. In a perfect world, the government would give out heroin to people in your situation.
