What types of homeopathic treatments are there for lupus?

I have Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and a very low carbohydrate organic diet really helps. If I eat very few carbs, and certainly no refined (processed) carbohydrates, I remain symptom free.

That may not work for everyone, but it works for many poeple with SLE.

A constitutional homeopathic remedy also worked wonders for me.

A homeopathic constitutional remedy is individual (not the same for everyone with Lupus). A qualified homeopath would be the best one to match it to the individual person.

By homeopathic do you mean supplementation as well? If so, making sure your body is healthy from the cellular level is the place to start. Then when it has healed all it can from good nutrition you can start to add additional foods/products that can address specific issues.

Some homeopathic practitioners maintain that they can relieve some of the lupus symptoms. The ones with whom I have spoken make no claims about a cure.

In general, good self management for lupus includes stress management, nutritious diet rich in whole foods and low in animal fat, regular exercise, sun protection and avoiding cigarette smoke.

Treatment goals for lupus are to calm the immune system, reduce symptoms, and prevent long term damage. There is no cure.

The majority of lupus patients will live a relatively normal life span, but lupus sometimes does kill. It is not to be taken lightly. I recently attended a funeral for a 36 year old member of my support group. Take it seriously.

It is not natural for one's immune system to turn against oneself as it does in lupus. Why then, do we expect "natural" cures will fix it? Sometimes we need to be open to all possibilities. The internal damage that lupus causes may have no symptoms whatsover until that damage is irreversible or fatal. Please see a rheumatologist and work with that person as you explore possible treatments-allopathic, homeopathic, or other.
