Any one with lupus, in a relationship have trouble with there partner understand what lupus dose to you?

Well I have MS which is anther autoimmune condition so I can tell you from my stand point. Its hard for you to come to trems with what your life looks like now, how you feel everday, the good ones and the bad ones but throw into the mix anther person even someone who you love and loves you makes it even harder. I have a long term boyfriend/husaband really since we call each other hubby or wifie but I dont really belive in marriage, sorry. But he has stuck by me and at first I know that he refused to talk about it, he would rather have not had to think about it. Then he was always angry, then depressed and know hes pretty good. He still has his days were you can see it hurts him but i know that like me he was going through the stages of accpcance but he was having a harder time since while I know how i feel he just sees me and since i still look 'way to good to be sick' its a hard process for him I think. Its a tough road and he could take the easy road and leave, I dont have that road option and so its hard knowing that he could choose to leave the bumpy road but I have heart knowing that when he looks at me his eyes hold a deep love and a touch of pain, pain that I am going throgh this. But thats just my point of view.

It's difficult on all relationships when someone is diagnosed with an illness whether it be acute or chronic.
I was diagnosed 10 months after I got married.. I was 19 yo. My life is nothing like I wanted/had planned. This disease has taken so much from me in one way, but taught me so much at the same time.
Go to this website www.butyoudontlooksick.com and look for "The Spoon Theory". This will explain how it is to deal with lupus daily.
It's scary when someone we love gets sick. Lupus is still a very serious disease and it can kill you. While it's not common, it does happen... and that's terrifying for someone that loves you. With diseases like lupus, there is no cure, no treatment that will make it all better... we will have it forever... even a "mild" case is still sick- the fatigue and joint pain alone is enough.

Have you considered a therapist? Therapy is awesome.. it gives you a sounding board and it's a safe place to voice all your concerns..it's difficult to communicate about problems like this... there can also be resentment if this diagnosis has caused a major change in your lifestyle.
Take care
