What does this look like? LUPUS?? pic included?

I have this rash on my face...I have had it for a while. At first the Dr just said it was rosacia but, not she is testing me for lupus. Does this look like the butterfly rash that people get with lupus?

I'm 29. She treated me for rosacia for a while but I did not respond to treatments. I have several other lupus symptoms...joint selling, low grade fevers, flaky patches on my face, hair loss, extreme fatigue.....I am supposed to get my test result tuesday but, until then I am very nervous.

It is Acne Rosacea.

Easily treated with Metronidazole ointment (Rosex Gel), an antibiotic. Rosacea is NOT a bacterial infection however the anti-inflammatory actions of the ointment reduce the inflammation in the capillaries which causes the rash and 'pimples'. Your doctor should write you a script for it.

Mind you, a lot of people with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus get Acne Rosacea.

It is a good thing your doctor is testing you for lupus as you may have a low dose of it.

SO STAY OUT OF THE SUN.

ADDITIONAL 40 MINUTES LATER:

Rosacea takes about 6 months of applying the gel before it goes away. Staying out of the sun is an ABSOLUTE MUST for both conditions.

Check out this web site....it has photos of people with rosacea and the malar rash of lupus.....http://www.healthy-skin-guide.com/rosace...

Your rash looks like rosacea to me...but it is probably good your doctor is testing for lupus also. I wish you luck.

I'm not sure, but here is a page about symptoms that has a link to apicture, and this website looks like it has a lot of helpful information.

I'd be testing you for lupus.
