Please Help!! Could it be lupus?

I recently lost weight, which we thought was because I just went on concerta. I have been feeling tired lately, but cant really sleep. I just dont have energy to do as many things as i used to. I went to the doctor and my ANA test came back positive, and my white blood cells were a tenth lower than normal? I dont get any other tests back until wednesday, but do you have any idea what this could be? My main symptoms are purple nails when im cold, weight loss, fatigue, depression. please help, thank you!

I have Lupus (along with Scleroderma & Rheumatoid Arthritis), I was diagnosed with it 6 years ago. However, I have lived with the symptoms for more than 15 years. A positive ANA is one sign, so is the purple nails (Raynaud's Syndrome), weight loss and fatigue. The depression could simply be brought about because you don't feel good and feeling bad isn't very fun.

If it is Lupus, don't worry too much. Medicine has come along way since the times when people would actually die from it. Like the one person said of her aunt, there will be days when you are Absolutely exhausted...the best thing to do is to give in to it and let it pass and it will always pass. Those times are called flares. The sun thing is not necessarily true...that depends on the type of Lupus you have. I have the type that affects my organs....so sun is really not an issue for me. If you have it, find a really good Rheumatologist, sit back, relax and look at the world in a much calmer way...and you will be fine.

It doesn't necessarily mean you have lupus. Just wait for the other tests to come back. Don't stress. Stress will just make things harder for you.

You didn't mention any pain, swelling, joint pain, lupus rash, fever, or inflammation. Therefore, it probably isn't lupus

Good luck. If you need more information. Please feel free to IM/email me.

My aunt has Lupus and wasn't diagnosed for YEARS!! It's called lupus because it takes on the symptoms of other diseases. Lupus (the wolf) is debilitating. She gets very sick to the point where she can't get out of bed for weeks. You can't go in the sun...
