Systematic Lupus & Social Security? |
Do any of you have Systematic Lupus, and have or applied for social security?? Did you get it the first time you applied, or did you have to go through it several times and how did it go? Yes I have an auttoimmune disease--difficult to prove on paper sometimes that you have it--I applied myself the first time-an I am a medical person and was turned down-I had heard horror stories of how people had been rejected numerous times-and I really could not work.I went to a disability lawyer--best thing I ever did--they specialize in these matters-it is normal to be rejected the first time-but the second time with a lawyer went well-no problem-they know the right questions to ask so the SS board can see whats going on with you. remember you have to be out of work for 6 months before you can apply....good luck--oh and the lawyer does charge a fee set by the law-it comes out of the retro payment you get-and it is well worth it... my sister has lupus, you must apply for it , once they turn you down, then get a layer, they will get it for you. that is how my sister got it. i help my sister to get hers, by getting a layer Lupus is the most fakeable disease there is and is therefore hardest to get SSD for. It is a favorite for hypochondriacs. Many Doctors do not even believe that Lupus is a real disease. Same thing for Fibromyalsia........ I have a younger sister with Lupus. She can still work. I have symptoms of Fibromyalgia. I have appied for ss disability. I was rejected the first time. They said there was proof something was wrong, but not enough to keep me from working. Well, I can not work. I do have an attorney now. So, it is in their hands now. I do pray I am accepted this time. Good luck to you, and I hope you can get your disability with no problems. |
