Mono with lupus?

I have been diagnosed with Lupus for about 3 years. I just came home from the doctor with the diagnosis of Mono. They did not send me home with any new meds, but wanted me to see the rhemutologist but he is on vacation until the middle of next week. I have been having chest pains and my blood pressure has been high for the passat few days. (I am 31) The doctor told me to come home and go to bed but I am bored and am thinking about going back to work in the morning. (All my employees have had mono and have been around me this week) I am tired and have a little bit of a sore throat and a bad headache. With the lupus, I am used to feeling bad and I really do not feel much worse than a nornal day in my life. Does anyone hae any good advise or knowledge to give me???

You need to give your body a break/rest. Mono requires a lot of rest. If you don't give it a break, then you are more likely to have a bad flare-up of lupus.

Take a couple days off... you need it.

idk
Rest, rest, rest.
It's the best treatment for mono, believe me.
If you have both of those, you don't want to overtax your system by working for a little while because you could wind up in the hospital. They're both sneaky little illnesses that seem minor until stressed.
SLE is a serious disease and I suggest you follow your doc's instructions. Mono is viral therefore nothing will really work, I know your throat must be sore because it can cause a bad faringitis...I know you're young and bored but just try and stay home until it's time to see the doc. Go out and get a good book or try renting some movies...it can be a bummer now but you just might need in the future that rest you are taking for granted. Good luck with all!
are you sure you have lupus? i have rheumatoid arthritis, they could not tell me what i had, it took 4 yrs to find out what i had, they told me it was lupus, and it was not, did they tell you that your blood work confirms that you have lupus positively, if they did, i would still get a 2nd opinion. they told me i had a positive for lupus, but turned out to be wrong......well, maby they were wrong about you too? well, good luck, either way i know how bad it is to have lupus, my condition was mistaken for lupus....they are so close, the symptoms are so close that they are mistaken all the time by doctors..........:O)......ps:c... pains and being tired are also more reason to think it is rheumatoid arthritis........i would get a second opinion, and go see that doctor, he is a expert on lupus and RA, and mono too.....good luck!!........ps: many great doctors are wrong a lot! so, i am just saying that it would not be a bad thing to ask for a second opinion, that's all, i am not being mean or rude, i was told i had lupus, and by the best doctors on the east coast, so being human, we all can be wrong sometimes, i hope things go well for you and hope you are not in pain, it is hard to be happy when you are in so much pain.......good luck
