Does anyone know about lupus?

I was told that people with lupus should avoid ingesting/eating sunflower oil. I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be bad to place it on the skin in small quantities if used as an ingredient in a lotion, etc. Anyone know?

I've never heard of any connection between lupus and sunflower oil, but check with your doctor.

These websites give lots of information about lupus. I hope this helps. Source(s): http://www.niams.nih.gov/hi/topics/lupus...

all i know is that it is a skin condition
My mom has had lupus for last 15 yrs. and she uses lotion and hasn't had any problems with it, but each person is different. She eat sunflower seeds and hasn't had anything wrong. Lupus is an immune disorder and you also get all other types of diseases that go along with it.
It is a skin condition that is not infectious. It's like our immune system is turning against our own body.
it is a blood condition. my aunty has it
it is a chronic, potentially debilitating or fatal autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the body鈥檚 cells and tissue, resulting in inflammation and tissue damage. SLE can affect any part of the body, but most often harms the kidneys (lupus nephritis), heart, joints (rheumatological), skin, lungs, blood vessels and brain/nervous system. Lupus is treatable, though there is currently (2006) no cure for it.
