Are there any recently diagnosed Lupus patients?

I am 18 years old and I have been diagnosed (by a rheumatologist/internalist)as being border-line Lupus. I have been having new symptoms such as the butterfly rash, hair loss, swollen and achig hands and joints and exhaustion. How were you all diagnosed and how are you going about the daily rough and tumble of life? Thanks.

Greetings!! A fantastic website for those with Lupus and/or any other autoimmune (AI) disease is the virtual village at: http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com...

I personally have MS, which is another type of AI disease. The but you don't look sick website was founded 2 years ago by a lady in her late 20's with Lupus, who was having a hard time explaining her condition and her symptoms to friends, family, and doctors. She developed what has become known as the "Spoon Theory" to explain her condition, and the condition of all the rest of us with "invisible" diseases!! Here is the link to that story on the but you don't look sick website:

I can't recommend this site strongly enough!!! We have lots of general threads covering any and all phases of life. We also have disease-specific threads like Lupus and MS.

So, if you want to know more about Lupus; or, you just want to talk to others like you and laugh, cry, vent, share experiences, jokes, pictures, ideas, thoughts, etc., please join us at:

I look forward to seeing you there!!! We currently are approaching our 2,000 member. I'm the Moderator of the MS, Work Related, Social Security, and Baby Boomers Forums!!
Hi! I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis - I had a similar ailment but I'm like 90% now. Check out www.incc.org (See Research and Testimonials under Lupus)...then www.tni.com/alternativemedicin... Good luck with that!

P.S. that's "alternativemedicine"
You can try looking on healthboards.com
and talk to other people who have lupus there. Good luck.
