Can a Dx. of Systemic Lupus disallow a student to enter an RN program based on a physical disability? |
What other things would preclude a student from getting into a R.N. school? Anybody know of online nursing schools? Thanks :>)d. I don't see why it would prevent you from being a nurse other than if you are too tired to continue the education. You could make it easier on yourself by spreading the education out over a longer period of time. No, there are no online nursing schools and I pray that never happens. It is essential to learn so many of the nursing procedures via hands on experience which requires working as a student nurse in a hospital. As it is, the college educated nurses leave much more to be desired (when it comes to experience) compared to the prior diploma school graduates. Statistics have shown that it takes a year of full time work experience for a college grad nurse to gain the same hands on expertise as those who graduated from diploma schools. This is due to the difference in the amount of time spent as a student working in the hospital. Sadly, diploma programs have been phased out. That seems illegal. I have known those with lupus and they live productive lives and work hard long hours. Is that now discrimination? notright |
