How long does drug-induced lupus last? |
I found out that I have drug-induced lupus a week ago. I am dealing with joints pain, low fever, and such. wondering if any of you have that experience will like to hear from you. thanks I have Lupus and APS. Please be happy yours is drug induced. Once that drug is out of your system you should be fine again. Drug-induced lupus is a form of lupus caused by medications. Many different drugs can cause drug-induced lupus. Symptoms are similar to those of SLE (arthritis, rash, fever, and chest pain) and they typically go away completely when the drug is stopped. The kidneys and brain are rarely involved. Then again I'm not a doctor. One of my friends said his dad died from lupus once. Once the suspected medication is stopped, symptoms should decline within days. Usually symptoms disappear within one or two weeks. Drug-induced lupus can be diagnosed with certainty only by resolution of symptoms and their failure to recur after stopping the medication. |
