How many people here have Lupus?

I have Lupus(SLE-Systemic Lupus Erythematosus), just curious as to how many here have it or knows someone who has it. And is yours under control, or do you have alot of flares like I do?

I have SLE and kidney disease from the Lupus. I am in remission (again) but have been through 4 major flare ups since I was diagnosed in 1992. My last one was in 2001 and I have since become a vegetarian and only eat foods and use products that are organic/natural. Lupus is one of the many diseases that are sensitve too or caused by chemicals and I do feel better since I made that life change. Lupus is more common than many of the "known" diseases put together. If you don't already know this, stay out of the sun, avoid stress, listen to your body when you need to rest and again stay away from all chemicals. Stay strong and don't become your disease. My aunt has it. She has it pretty much under control as far as I know, as long as she doesn't go out into the sun for a long time.
My mom has lupus but it's the 'internal' kind. She is tired a lot and her muscles and body in general are always aching. She also has fibromyalgia so this may compound the symptoms. My sister has it as well but her's is not as severe. I know that people with lupus generally can't be out in the sun, but my mom can be out in the sun just fine. Most of her complaints are tiredness, aching, etc.
I have it. Have had it for 8 yrs. mine goes up and down like a roller coaster. Right now I am in remission. I just try to keep my energy levels good and eat good food.
