Question about work and my lupus?

I have lupus, and I can't work long hours, like I can usualy only work three hours a day and no more then 5 days in a week, but my boss keeps on wanting me to work 6-I tell her all the time my doctor said no and she says I don't have to listen to him,I should just pust myself more

what should I do? pushing myself makes it worse,no matter what I say she doesn't care

The ADA (American's with Disabilities Act) prevents such workplace harassment. Your boss has to make reasonable accomodations to assist you while at work and part of that can be assistance with a flexible schedule. Is it at all possible for you to work while at home or come up with alternatives to just being at work. What kind of work do you do? Maybe you should look into something a little less stressful on your body. The point is that you have options and aren't stuck. If he continues to request that you work, in spite of your doctors orders, you need to file a grievance with your HR department...If your job doesn't have one contact a disability rights attorney. Lupus is a chronic disease which is covered by the ADA.

Good Luck to you. Source(s): Wife has Lupus and is a practicing Dentist
Get a docotrs note and show him. If he still insists then report him to the HR dept. or take the matter higher up. Or better still, why don't you take time off and relax at home till you get better
Try finding another job. In the meantime I would find out if you are eligible for disability.
